Lopez, whose company serves the general aviation community flying into the surrounding NY area, landed this top honor based on her outstanding delivery of customer service as rated through ExxonMobil’s prestigious PremierSpirit program.

“PremierSpirit GEM Winners like Nydia Lopez are an asset to the airfields and communities they serve. The accomplishment not only reflects well on the FBO but also reassures the local community that general aviation pilots visiting the local airfield are receiving the highest levels of customer service and fuel quality, when they visit an FBO with GEM Winners,” said Richard Oldham, ExxonMobil Aviation's North America General Aviation Sales Manager.

In its 19th year, the PremierSpirit GEM program asks customers to rate the FBO's customer service offering and to specifically name a representative who has gone the extra mile to provide stellar service. Based on this feedback, the award winners are chosen.  These winners represent the top 2% percent of ExxonMobil Aviation-branded FBO service personnel in the United States who participated in PremierSpirit.  Pilots and schedulers returned over 9,000 surveys in 2007, and Lopez was among GEM winners recently announced.

“PremierSpirit is a highly competitive and extremely beneficial program as it challenges our FBOs to deliver customer care of a gold caliber in the general aviation industry. Winners like Lopez have earned the utmost respect and praise of the people we value most—the customers,” Oldham continued.

Mac Dan Aviation Assists Civil Air Patrol

In Search and Rescue Training

March 20, 2003

Fairfield, NJMac Dan Aviation (Mac Dan) and the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) worked together for the first time in conducting Search and Rescue training on Saturday, March 15, 2003 from 10am to 8pm. The joint venture was very successful and CAP has made plans to conduct future monthly search and rescue training at the Essex County based airport.

The Civil Air Patrol’s Search And Rescue Exercise was organized and conducted by Group 221 of the New Jersey Wing 22. Captain Tom Donohue and 1st Lt. John Donohue, Safety Officers from the Walter Schirra Jr. Composite Squadron, were responsible for the development and implementation of the SAREX (Search And Rescue Exercise). 1st Lt. Peter Bruck, Commander of the Lone Eagle Composite Squadron of Morristown, provided liaison between the FAA, Mac Dan Aviation and the Civil Air Patrol. Sixteen search and rescue missions were conducted throughout Northern New Jersey using CAP’s own airplanes.

The talents of CAP members have augmented the Air Force in search and rescue relief since CAP’s formation in 1941. The Emergency Services Mission includes search and rescue and disaster relief operations. CAP has assisted the nation in times of disaster and in emergency situations in the past and now is becoming a vital part of our Homeland Security.

CAP is the civilian auxiliary of the U.S Air Force and is organized along military lines. Nationwide there are more than 1,700 units, with more than 60,000 members and over 500 light aircraft. For more than 60 years, CAP has performed three congressionally mandated missions: Aerospace Education, Cadet Programs and Emergency Services.

"The Civil Air Patrol is an organization which encourages our young people to become responsible citizens through educational and volunteer pursuits," said Guyon Nelson, Man Dan's FBO Manager. "The Civil Air Patrol provides much needed support in search and rescue as well as aerial surveillance. Mac Dan is very happy to be a part of this fine organization by helping them with a base of operations and support for their monthly practice missions."
